A passing mention of permission being in place to start an English medium school at the Juhu Gandhigram Municipal School in its managing committee meeting was the trigger that started our movement. We carried out an outreach drive in the surrounding slums in the and within a couple of days enrolled a 100 students. We commenced school sessions of the Juhu Gandhigram Mumbai Public School in June 2008 with 180 students ( Jr KG - Grade 1) Circa 2022 we have around 1500 students across three Municipal schools. This year our 5th batch of students will appear for their SSC boards and in the past two years, we have achieved 100% results.
Post COVID-19, we have adopted the hybrid version of teaching so as to reach out to the maximum number of students. We strive to make school a safe and joyful place for the children despite their harsh socio-economic backgrounds. Our curriculum is continuously evolving to ensure a child's holistic development through academics, extra curricular, life skills and personality development.
This school is where the Nagriksatta, the education project first began. From 160 students in 2008 to over 1200 today, our continued efforts over the years has made Nagriksatta a recognised name in the BMC Education department. While the original building no longer stands, the children (Jr KG to Grade 10) are spread over three campuses in the area.

Lalji Trikamji MPS
The addition of a third school to the Nagriksatta education program is testimony to the quality of work being done in each school. At Lalji Trakimi, Nagriksatta completely handles 100+ kids from Jr Kg- Grade 3. The school is currently up to Grade 6 and will add a grade each year.
